This is a 2 session class.

*Are you concerned about climate change?

*Do you want to reduce your carbon emissions, but aren’t sure what has the most impact?

*Do you enjoy having support when tackling a personal goal?

Climate disruption, one of the foremost challenges of our time, has many implications for both our personal health and the health of our planet. Atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2), the primary cause, has increased to levels never observed before and well beyond the level deemed safe by scientists. With a recent U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, many are asking what they can do. Fortunately, we can take action with a variety of approaches to safeguard the planet, and in the process save money, increase community, and improve wellness.

This fun class is comprised of two sessions, designed to turn good environmental intentions into action. The course takes the guesswork out of which actions are most impactful, giving you a roadmap for where to spend precious time. You’ll be introduced to skills such as how to green your transportation, save energy at home, reuse/recycle better, green your finances, shop mindfully, make dietary changes, fly green, impact policy, and more!

Over the two sessions we’ll explore these topics, encourage concrete action in one or more areas, learn tips and tricks from other participants, and help problem-solve barriers in a supportive group atmosphere.

Facilitators: Steve Attinger, MBA, CGBP, Environmental Sustainability Manager City of Mountain View; Jane Rosten, MSW, LCSW, Environmental Behavior Change Manager, Stanford HIP.
