Healthy Bones for Life

What can you do NOW to reduce your risk for osteoporosis? Is it possible to reverse bone loss if you already have osteoporosis? What are the risk factors for osteoporosis? Each participant will have the opportunity to do a bone-loss risk factor evaluation. Participants will also develop a prevention and maintenance program based on a dietary plan containing the recommended calcium and Vitamins D and K intake, along with specific exercises ensuring adequate stress on the bones. Methods of assessing bone density, prescription treatments for osteoporosis, and nutritional supplements will also be discussed. Participants will receive a handout packet.
