SJW Mentors with Matt Wilson

The Stanford Jazz Workshop's Jazz Mentors are a group of young musicians selected from around the country to teach at the Workshop's summer education programs. They earn valuable teaching experience, get an opportunity to work and play with the rest of the artists in the Workshop's faculty, and inspire the whole community with their energy, talent, and dedication. Alumni of the program have gone on to begin outstanding careers in jazz performance and education, and this year's Mentors are an amazingly talented and accomplished bunch, with skills, experience, and musicianship beyond their years. Teaching together during the day and jamming until late at night, these young artists play with creativity and up-to-the-minute hipness. Audiences get a chance to hear tomorrow's jazz stars today in this special performance, which features all-star drummer Matt Wilson. The Mentors represent the future of jazz, and it's clear that the future is in good hands.
