Presents: Jack Zenger
CEO, Zenger Folkman
What is the most important competency for leaders to build? Dr. Jack Zenger outlines sixteen competencies or behaviors that make a difference in how leaders are perceived. These competencies form the basis for his argument that developing great leaders is not about fixing weaknesses, but rather, about building on a few key areas of strength.
Dr. Zenger along with Dr. Joseph Folkman and Scott Edinger evaluated their initial research done for The Extraordinary Leader and found that the competency “inspires and motivates others” had a more significant, positive impact than any other. This came as a surprise given that it's the softest of the soft skills and that most people perceive it as “something you're born with.” As a result, Dr. Zenger evaluated his research further and discovered that becoming an inspiring leader is, in fact, something that can, and should, be learned.
In this session, Dr. Zenger will address the research in his new book The Inspiring Leader. He will share practical, actionable methods for leaders in any organization to learn how to become more inspirational. Additionally, he will share the data that led him to this conclusion and how becoming inspirational can help leaders become truly extraordinary.
